Monkey Business

The children asked if they could make some playdough. We thought we would make a simple instruction booklet to see if they could make it independently.

They worked well together, and after a few minutes one child took charge and was telling the others what to do! They worked out each instruction, and even when they spilt the jug of water, they thought about what to do and decided they would use the drinks dispenser in the room to get more.

They took turns without adult input, and even used utensils from the roleplay when they needed more. When the playdough was finished, the children played with it for a long period of time. The activity was a great success, and we will definitely be doing it again!
